Seeing God in a Flower

When you look at a flower, do you see wonder and the unexplained beauty and fragrance in a magnificently organized system that shouts the praises of God? Flowers have their own communicational language. Each has its own meaning and understanding which are reasons why people favor certain kinds over others. In Biblical times, flowers were used symbolically such as the Lily of the Valley. In Matthew 6:28-33, Jesus said: “And why do you worry about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.” During the summer months when life tends to slow a bit, wander a flower garden and take a moment “to smell the roses.”
