This ministry in coordination with the Board of Elders and the Stewardship Ministry helps
Zion members identify their particular gifts and areas of service.
THE ELDERS MEETING
Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
The Board of Elders monitors the activities and actions of all ministries and committees and
serves as a forum of study and conversation with regard to policy decisions.
Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 9:30 a.m.
This group meets to discuss the schedule of visitation of Zion members.
2014 ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
Saturday, March 15, 2014 Steps off at 11:00 AM
Parade starts at Jefferson & Francis, going west on Jefferson,
turning north on Niles Avenue and ending at Washington Street.
Whatever the weather, members of Zion will be setting up a tent near the Jefferson Street sign
offering coffee, hot chocolate, water and/or lemonade and cookies to parade goers to promote
Zion and collect donations for the Zion Scholarship Fund.
The Evangelism Ministry is heading up this event and would welcome any and all participants
to assist in the work of the day.
We are asking for cookie donations. Please drop them off at anytime during the week before
the parade. On the day of the parade, come and spend some time inside with fellowship with
our members helping ready the refreshments and/or outside with fellowship with folks we
meet along the parade route.
We would love for this to be an all church event so no matter what you can give any and all of
your offerings (cookies, time in the kitchen or outside) will be much appreciated.

of each month. Taize is a sung and silent participatory prayer service
designed to achieve a contemplative state through music, song and silence.

Zion, through our Missions Ministry, volunteers once a month at Dismas House. We make,
serve, and enjoy dinner with the guests of Dismas House. We would like three or four people

100 CENTER LUNCHEON

Missions Ministry is holding a luncheon for some of the folks in the 100 Center Hi-Rise.
We will share food, conversation, and Bingo during our visit.

MARCH’S HELPING HAND CART
During March we will continue to support Broadway Christian Parish with these items:
men’s socks, bleach (used for cleaning), laundry soap, liquid soap ,
coffee (They serve 200 cups a day.)
FOOD: noodles, side dishes, canned vegetables,
single serving items like applesauce & fruit
We will also continue to collect peanut butter and paper items
such as toilet paper, facial tissues, and disposable diapers.
